Social Studies used to be soooo boring! I remember desperately trying to remember dates and times and people. It is far more important that students learn the continuum of our history. What happened first and how it caused other things to happen. Students find history fascinating when they understand the concept of Cause and Effect.
I like to dress up in character as I introduce important events or people in history. As students examine what was happening during a certain time and place they begin to make sense of it all. They begin to get excited and take interest!
