NARRATIVE WRITING
Narrative writing tells a story. The writer should be the main character in the story. Narratives can be based in fact or can venture into the science fiction and beyond. Students should be given lots of room to be creative when writing a narrative.
The picture prompts are fun. For the student that can't think of anything to write about it fills the bill. The class would generate a list of words to describe each picture, then they could use any of the words in their story. This method helps build vocabulary and provides support for struggling writers.
