MULTIPLICATION
Paper and pencil should not be used when introducing multiplication. Use of embroidery loops or circles made of yarn or paper plates will help students create sets. It is through the creation of sets that they begin to understand that multiplication is just repeated addition.
Math = Manipulatives
The more students use manipulatives the more they will internalize math concepts.
I used the Fast math multiplication once a week to measure each student's progress. I used a grid to record their answers. Slides advance after 3 seconds.
Beginning multiplication uses pictures of sets and elements to introduce the concepts of multiplication and only uses basic facts 0 through 4, then 0 through 6, building and reviewing.
Multiplication Facts is set up with the basic facts for one specific number. Such as all of the basic facts for the number 4. It is presented with a 3 second advance and facts are flipped to expose students to 4 x 5 and 5 x 4. They are self correcting as each slide is followed with the problem with the answer.
Multiplication overview assumes an understanding of multiplication.
